Be prepared for college before you arrive on campus
Edmonton, AB - November 23, 2010 - As a college student, the best way to be successful is to stay organized. The best way to do that is to start preparing for college in advance of arriving for your new program. This way, you'll avoid the feeling of stress and disorganization and can focus on learning everything you need to graduate. Staying organized starts with making sure you have these must-have school supplies for college students.
First of all, get yourself an agenda or day planner. This will keep your entire life organized - from exam days and assignment deadlines to study group and personal appointments. Also, determine if you need a laptop for class. You may not be required to carry a laptop to class, but depending on what subjects you're taking, having access to the Internet or just being able to type out your class notes right away may be beneficial to you and keep you organized.
A few essential college supplies will help the busiest of students. Finding an ergonomically designed backpack or messenger bag is essential to reducing the stress on your body while attending college. Balancing the weight of textbooks, binders, and electronics will help keep your posture correct and reduce exhaustion. And, as small as it may seem, purchase a refillable water bottle. Keeping hydrated is often overlooked by college students, especially if they are consumed with drinking sugary or highly caffeinated beverages. Clipping a water bottle to your backpack at all times will remind you to drink water therefore avoiding dehydration. It will also help stave off the desire to snack on junk food throughout the day.
