All incoming students to be a part of an interactive classroom experience

Edmonton, AB - August 29, 2011 – Starting on September 1, 2011, new students at Reeves College will trade in their textbooks for Apple iPads. Beginning this fall, approximately 200 new students across four cities will begin to use iPads as their primary learning tool in the classroom. By the end of the 2011-2012 school year, more than 1,000 students will have taken part in the new interactive learning initiative.

"With iPads in the classroom, Reeves College students will benefit from a more interactive and enriching learning experience," says Dr. Bohdan Bilan, VP of Academics for Reeves College.

The lightweight iPads (they weigh just 1.3 pounds) will be a welcome change to carrying heavy textbooks to and from school. However, it’s the enhanced learning capabilities that students will really benefit from. All iPads will come preloaded with Pearson’s eText for iPad platform, Pearson’s premier electronic textbook technology and will allow students to take notes, bookmark pages, highlight text and interact with fellow classmates and instructors both in and out of the classroom.

The iPad touch screen is easy to use, with functions for zooming into text and images or flipping through pages by swiping your finger across the screen. Reeves College students will find that using the iPad will be simple and straightforward, especially with help from knowledgeable staff and instructors.

Wonderful teachers and excellent staff coordinators. I had a very great experience attending Reeves North with my online program and highly recommend them to anyone who may be considering attending post secondary education or either after high school or changing careers or even to upgrade current degrees. Huge thumbs up!
