National Walk to School Day
October 6, 2021

Not only does the day encourage getting exercise, but the weather is perfect for walking to school too! Walking is one of the best forms of exercise.

National Dessert Day
October 14, 2021

People around the country indulge every October 14th on National Dessert Day! Celebrated by way of the local bakery, grandma’s house or chocolate shop, desserts include candies and much more!

Reeves 60th Anniversary: October 4-8

This year, Reeves College is turning 60 years old. To celebrate, we invited the founding family, staff, and volunteers to plant 60 trees at Jackie Parker Park, in honour of each year of exceptional training. Read more about this event here.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day raises awareness and mobilizes efforts to support mental health. Mental health is a hot topic. This is good news. It means the stigma for mental health issues is slowly going away.


Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year.

Tree Planting for Reeves 60th

Last month for Reeves birthday we planted 60 trees for 60 years. Staff from all over the province came to Edmonton to plant trees in celebrations. It was very fun and good for the environment. Big thanks to Root for Trees for helping make this a possibility.
