Reeves 60th Anniversary: October 4-8

This year, Reeves College is turning 60 years old. To celebrate, we invited the founding family, staff, and volunteers to plant 60 trees at Jackie Parker Park, in honour of each year of exceptional training. Read more about this event here.

Canadian Islamic History Month: October 1-31

 

October 1st marks the beginning of Canadian Islamic History Month. This year's theme is the resilience and achievements of Black Muslims, which illustrates how Muslim Canadians have made Canada a stronger and more resilient country. Learn more about Canadian Islamic History here.

 

 

Movember: November 1- 31

 

Movember is an annual event that involves growing moustaches for the entire month to raise awareness of men's health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and suicide. Learn more about Movember here.

 

Remembrance Day: November 11

 

Every November, Canadians all over the country pause for a moment of silence in remembrance of the people who have served as veterans. This is also a statutory holiday across Canada. Learn more about Remembrance Day here.

 

Transgender Day of Remembrance: November 20

 

We mark this day in response to the brutal killing of Rita Hester, a Black trans woman. November 20th is Transgender Day of Remembrance in Canada, where we recognize and honour all trans, two-spirit, and non-binary people who have had their lives take from violence, discrimination, and hatred.
